Keynes
achieved fame as an economist. He made many important contributions
to the development of economics as a science and also to the practical
application of economic theory. Nevertheless, Keynes also trained
as a mathematician. He wrote a groundbreaking work on probability theory
while a relatively young man and made extensive use of mathematics
in his work in economics throughout his career.
